Sony already has opening days on lock The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (June 10th, 2016) and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 (May 4th, 2018), but it doesn't look like they've got director Marc Webb on lock too—at least for the fourth film. Speaking with The Daily Beast Webb explained that after the third movie, he's looking to remain involved as merely a consultant. "I’ve already talked to these guys about it, but in terms of directing it, that will close out my tenure," Webb said. "I’ve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, it’ll be the time to find something else."

The star of the movie, Andrew Garfield, isn't signed on for a fourth Spider-Man either. In December Garfield told Yahoo UK that he's under contract for a third, but added "as far as a fourth one? That’s not anything to do with me."

Hmm, is Sony thinking a little too far ahead on this one?
