Bryan Singer’s attorney has responded to the recent lawsuit filed against his client that claims the director sexually abused a 17-year-old boy in Hawaii in 1999. Singer’s attorney, Marty Singer, no relation, says that his client has credit card receipts, phone records, and production schedules that prove he wasn’t in Hawaii at the times that the alleged abuse took place, according to the Associated Press (via Hawaii News Now). Instead, he was busy working on a film at the time.

"This was Bryan's first studio film," Marty Singer said in his response. "Clearly, he's not going to take a break in the middle of this movie while you're shooting and prepping it to go to Hawaii."

If Marty Singer’s response is accurate, this would have been the same time that the director was working on the first X-Men movie, which came out in the summer of 2000. So far, neither the accuser, Michael Egan III, nor his attorney has responded to this report. We’ll have more information on this developing story as it becomes available.
