Following an all-day crack binge, a Florida woman gave birth in a motel bathtub and cut the umbilical cord with her teeth. This is the definition of sordid.

According to MyNews13, 37-year-old Chrystal Hassell told police that she checked into the Vacation Host Inn in Ocala, Fla. on Friday night with her boyfriend and 11-month-old son. Despite claiming to only be seven months pregnant, she said she went into labor—this following a day spent smoking crack.

Hassell's boyfriend, Vincent Terry, had left with the 11-month-old to run an errand, so she was left to deliver the baby alone in the motel's bathtub. The cord? She severed it with her teeth.

Now here's where the story gets convoluted: Instead of calling 911, she called Terry, who was pulled over in his haste to assist her. That's when Marion County deputies learned that he an outstanding warrant for attempted murder in Colorado.

After Hassell finally called 911, the newborn baby was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, then airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville in critical condition. Hassell was obviously arrested, joining Terry in jail on child neglect charges.

The 11-month-old boy has been placed in foster care, and a terrible example has been set for Hassell's third child, a 16-year-old girl who was reportedly born addicted to drugs.

Heaven help this family, please.
