A major bug has been shut down in The Elder Scrolls Online but not before being exploited to create tons of cash. The item-duplication bug has flooded the multiplayer role-playing game with illicit gold.

The developer has temporarily plugged the hole by shutting down the game's guild banks which activated the exploit by depositing and withdrawing stacks of items from the banks.

The question for developers now is how to contain the the massive flood of cash. In a game where it's difficult to farm gold this really breaks the balance of play. Stay tuned for updates.
