According to The Wrap, Jessica Chastain is close to finalizing a deal to play Marilyn Monroe in director Andrew Dominik’s upcoming film, Blonde. The movie will be based on the Joyce Carol Oates book of the same name, which pulled from historical sources to create a fictionalized account of the life of the woman who was once Norma Jeane Baker. The book was released in 2000 and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 2001. Here is a description of the book from Harper Collins:

None

Blonde will take an unconventional look at Monroe’s life, as opposed to recent biopics on the subject. This has been in the works from Dominik for a while, and originally Naomi Watts set to play Marilyn at one point. But with a star now attached, expect Blonde to become one of the most anticipated movies over the next few years.
