The MIT Bitcoin Club just turned into the coolest club on campus, anywhere. For all time.

They're so passionate about bitcoin that they're getting ready to give $100 worth of the cryptocurrency to every undergraduate student at the school during the fall. They're not just giving out the money from their pockets: they've collected more than $500,000 from alumni and bitcoin enthusiasts. Researchers are planning to work with the group to monitor how the 4,500 students choose to spend their newfound money, which will be an interesting project in itself. 

"Giving students access to cryptocurrencies is analogous to providing them with internet access at the dawn of the internet era," says Jeremy Rubin, one of the MIT students behind the project.
