In Complex TV's latest episode of The Neighborhood, the members of RATKING (Hak, Wiki and Sporting Life) take us on a tour of Harlem and share memories of doing community service and smelling like trash.
It all started on 163rd and Broadway. There, the young upstarts decided to combine their love of hip-hop, hard core and noise to create a sound that is at once jarring and deeply reflective of the city that it was made in.
"I base how I make beats off of the amount of noise you hear in the streets," says Sporting Life.
Watch RATKING roll blunts and reminisce about "middle school honies" and popping ollies at the "unskatable" Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Riverside Park in our new episode of The Neighborhood.
