Microsoft co-founder and former long-time CEO Bill Gates is a busy guy. So perhaps he wasn't expecting the the kick-back from a yes or no question during an interview with Fox Business. In a segment where Gates was voicing his support for new Microsoft head Satya Nadella he was asked if he would support the spinning-off of the Xbox gaming business: “Absolutely.”

Microsoft responded today saying that the statement was taken out of context. Which it was. “We're taking PC gaming and Xbox gaming and bringing those a lot closer together,” Gates said. “The power of the graphics chips mean you can do great games there.” He went on to explain that Microsoft's gaming strategy is unified and his statement was one of support of the new CEO and not necessarily a business strategy.

For now fans and naysayers can put that long-expected Xbox spin-off to bed.
