Show Me the Money! "Dota 2" Prize Pool up to $6 Million

The largest "Dota 2" competition keeps getting bigger with a prize-pool capping $6 million with two months to go

The prize pool for Valve's official Dota 2tournament, called The International, has reached more than $6 million.

With the competition two months away it will rise even hight then the current amount which is currently double the prize pool of last year's eSports blowout. Last year the winning team took home half of the $2.9 million prize.

Valve sells an eBook companion to its free game called “The Compendium” which fuels the prize pool. The eBook costs $10 with $2.50 of ever sale going to the winners of The International.

Valve is confident the prize will reach much higher with the final prize for the competition kicking off in the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington on July 18, likely to be over $10 million. Start practicing eSports fans, there's money in them games.
