In a story that we’ll admit is pretty disappointing, actors Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) apparently hated each other while filming all the Star Wars movies.

Neither seems particularly sentimental about their experience on set, either. Baker once said “there weren't any highlights; I was just there, in the droid. I can't remember any highs or lows, it was just a job.”

As for his relationship with his droid BFF? Baker, again, did not have any nice things to offer. He has said that Daniels “doesn’t get along with anyone,” that “there was no interconnection at all” between the two, and that when he approached Daniels about doing a tour together to make some money, Daniels “looked down his nose at me like I was a piece of shit. He said: 'I don't do many of these conventions—go away little man.' He really degraded me and made me feel small.”

It’s always a bummer when childhood heroes turn out to be, well, human, but when even your robot heroes are kind of a-holes? Come on. It’s too much.

Regardless of their feelings for one another, the duo will be back together in Star Wars: Episode VII and the subsequent follow-up films, so hopefully they can play nice. We’ll do our best to forget while we’re watching that they probably would like to fight one another.
