As if Knuckles, Tails, and Amy weren't enough, SEGA is now adding one more character to the Sonic universe: Sticks, "a jungle badger who has spent most of her life living alone in the wilderness." The new female addition to the cast will be joining Sonic & Co. during their adventures in the Sonic Boom branch of the franchise, a series which includes both a video game and an accompanying television show.

According to a press release from SEGA, Sticks is "wilder than the other members of Sonic’s team with unparalleled animal instincts and extremely sharp survival skills." She also uses homemade weaponry, primarily relying on her boomerang to dish out damage. However, they're quick to note that while Sticks is wild and reclusive, she also has a heart of gold and a desire to make friends with all her new partners. Touching, isn't it? New merchandising opportunities often are.
