Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age is a four-player cooperative shooter set in the 19th century. Complete with with crossbows, hand cannons and a variety of monster bashing weapons.

The third-person shooter focuses on a band of hunters seeking out dark enemies in a survival horror environment that sounds a lot like Valve's classic Left 4 Dead. Developer Crytek says that Hunt will have a closed beta later this year and the game is set to release on PC and consoles in a possibly free-to-play format.

“In Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we've created,” says David Adams CEO of Crytek in a press release. “From the outset of the development process, we've poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays Hunt will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities.”

Co-op games are getting much focus after the success of the Left 4 Dead series. Evolve is another big co-op title that features four players hunting a player controlled monster set to drop later this year.
