A group of acclaimed film directors, actors, and producers are fawning over their love of the latest trailer for Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth), Chan-wook Park (Old Boy, Lady Vengeance), and Nicolas Winding Refn (Pusher Series, Drive, Vahala Rising) are heaping praise upon the storytelling ability of Hideo Kojima and the new trailer for The Phantom Pain.

"Watching the trailers for MGSV makes you wonder if the spirits of Dostoyevsky, Stanley Kubrick, and Caravaggio entered Hideo Kojima's body because, using the art of gaming as his canvas, he boldly goes where no one has gone before," said Refn.

Yeah, a little over the top? No doubt the producers, directors and actors featured on the page enjoyed the trailer. But comparing Kojima to Stanley Kurbick might be a bit much. Who knows, maybe Phantom Pain will have twice as much grenades-in-vagina action as Ground Zeroes.

In case you missed it, the ending of Kojima's prequel to Phantom Pain, dubbed Ground Zeroes, involves a woman having a bomb jammed up where the sun don't shine. Confusing the hell out of everyone. Brilliant storytelling? Check out the rest of the fawning here.
