Universal's New Harry Potter Photos Don't Even Look Real, But They Are

Universal Orlando's photos of the new Harry Potter Diagon Alley don't look real but they are. The new attraction opens July 8.

The new photos that Universal Studios theme park in Orlando released of its new Harry Potter Diagon Alley attraction look so good it's hard to believe they're pictures of a real, physical place - but they are. 

At first glance, it's a little annoying that the gift shops in this new area outnumber the rides seven to one, but admittedly, the shops are pretty damn cool looking. They include Quality Quidditch Supplies, Olivanders wand store and Borgin andBurkes, where you can shop for skulls, death eater masks and other "sinister items." Plus, you can stuff your face with butter beer ice cream at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor, and take a ride on the Hogwart's Express between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade (if you shell out for a two-park ticket). 

There are lots of little hidden parts to the attraction for Potter fans to nerd out on, too, from a dragon sculpture that breathes actual fire every few minutes (pictured below), to the talking Dre Head that inhabits the triple-decker Knight Bus (also pictured below).

The theme park's new Potter-themed area opens on July 8. Here are the new photos, all via Universal Orlando:
