Are the Rumors True? Is Robert Pattinson the New Indiana Jones?

Can the rumors that Robert Pattinson is the new Indiana Jones possibly be true?

Disclaimer: this rumor is coming from the Daily Star, a British tabloid that treats stories like this as front page material. However, we can’t ignore at least some of the logic in their assertion that Robert Pattinson may be Disney’s choice to play Indiana Jones in future sequels.

Here is the entirety of their speculative report:

One Los Angeles insider said: “Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise. They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies. Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight, but the competition will be stiff.”

OK, so “one Los Angeles insider” is their only source. I have two cousins and several friends who live in LA; that probably qualifies me as a “Los Angeles insider” too.

Nevertheless, at least some of this Pattinson rumor makes sense. Disney paid a ton for the rights to the movies, so obviously they have some kind of money-making scheme cooked up. Whether they really want that Twilight guy leading the way, though, is an entirely different matter.
