Sin City actress Devon Aoki has officially joined the cast of The CW's Arrow for its third season. She's set to play Tatsu Yamashiro, better known in the comic book as the deadly Katana. The CW drama follows the original graphic novels published by DC Comics.
According to Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, the blade from which her codename "Katana" is derived. Tatsu will be one of Olivier Queen’s mentors in his journey to become the Arrow of present-day. Much like Shado, Tatsu will be featured in the show’s flashbacks.
This will be Aoki’s first-ever TV role. The actress/model has appeared in films like 2 Fast 2 Furious and the aforementioned Sin City. And, fun fact, Aoki’s brother, EDM DJ/producer extraordinaire Steve Aoki, previously appeared on Arrow as himself, back in season one. All in the family, indeed.
