What if we told you that eons ago Nicolas Cage was supposed to be Superman?
Believe it or not, it’s true. He was Superman in Superman Lives, a film which never saw the light of day.
Now a documentary titled The Death of ‘Superman Lives’: What Happened?’ directed and produced by Jon Schnepp aims to investigate the film’s history.
The unfinished film was being directed by Tim Burton, and had Kevin Smith on board as screenwriter.
From the trailer we learn that Burton’s vision for Superman focused on his alien-like quality, since he was from another planet. The film even planned on including a Batman cameo.
The documentary is currently unfinished because of production costs. It'd be ironic if the documentary about the unfinished film went unfinished as well.
