Back in January we got the dreadful Renny Harlin film The Legend of Hercules; it was a complete and utter failure, disappointing on almost every level. So it's with a bit of skepticism that we head into Brett Ratner's Hercules, which stars Dwayne Johnson and opens today. However, unlike Harlin's abomination, this Herc flick actually has a lot going for it, starting with its charismatic star.

In a role that he was born to play, Johnson steps into the shoes of the mythical Greek god. Hercules has over-the-top action, larger-than-life characters, tons of enthusiasm, and Dwayne Johnson kicking some serious ass. Honestly, what more can you ask for?

Last week, our friends over at We Got This Covered landed an exclusive interview with Johnson. They spoke with him about everything from why it took so long to get this project to the big screen to what type of training he had to do to get in Herculean shape.

Check out the video above. Hercules is in theaters now.
