Over the holiday weekend, Philadelphia hosted a variety of artists for their 2014 Philly 4th of July Jam. On the line-up were musicians like Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, and Aloe Blacc, all of whom put on show-stopping performances for those in attendance.

However, one of the weekend's most notable moments came during a DJ battle between Jeremy Ellis and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The Roots' Questlove presided over the moment, providing a rhythm section for the two DJs. At one point in the battle, Jazzy Jeff started spinning the original theme song for Super Mario Bros., providing a lead which Ellis was happy to follow.

The battle quickly turned into a retro-appreciation jam, as the two went back-and-forth to provide a new spin on an old classic. You can watch the entire performance above.
