The Upcoming Adam Sandler Movie "Pixels" Looks...Interesting

Adam Sandler's new movie "Pixels" co-stars Peter Dinklage, who we thought would be above such projects.

In the grand scheme of Adam Sandler movie concepts, the idea behind Pixels isn’t that bad: aliens intercept satellite transmissions of classic video games like Space Invaders and interpret them as an act of war. They attack earth with the same exact strategies and characters as you would see in an old school arcade game.

Unfortunately, this is where things get a little dicey.

Kevin James is the President of the United States. That is problem No. 1. He then calls in the best chance earth has at survival: “three losers” (according to director Chris Columbus) who are the best arcade game players known to man. They also happen to be President James’ childhood pals, and are played by Sandler, Josh Gad, and, improbably, Peter Dinklage.

Come on, Peter. What are you doing here? This is unbecoming behavior for a guy who is probably going to win an Emmy this year and is a name on the rise in Hollywood. Although, the photo above with Dinklage throwing his hands in the air would seem to say “Hey, they offered me $5 million to make this movie. What was I supposed to do?”

If they really wanted to ensure victory over the aliens, though, they’d get this guy:
