There’s more bad news coming out of Ferguson, Missouri, a town already reeling from the shooting death of teenager Michael Brown and the ensuing clashes between protestors and police. Overnight, the much-maligned Ferguson police were involved in another shooting.
According to a report from the local FOX affiliate, police responded at 1:00 AM this morning to a report of shots being fired, with four or five ski mask-clad, armed suspects involved. When officers arrived, they pursued the suspects on foot, and one of them pointed a gun at an approaching officer. The officer opened fire, critically wounding the suspect.

Police have said that this incident has nothing to do with the Brown protests, and on the surface it certainly appears that way. Nevertheless, a bad situation that already has the president’s attention just managed to get a little worse.
