If you've never seen Craig Ferguson's late night CBS talk show, just know that it is one of the weirdest, ballsiest, most irreverent things on TV.

I mean, the dude got complaints that he didn't have a co-host, so he had someone build him a robot skeleton, then made that robot skeleton his permanent sidekick. Who does that?

So it's good news to hear that Ferguson, who announced he'd be leaving CBS this December, appears to have a new gig lined up hosting a 7 p.m. syndicated talk show for Tribune Media, which would put him back on TV across the U.S.

Deadline reports that Ferguson is in advance talks to close a deal on the half-hour show, and he'll be bringing along the skeleton, Geoff Peterson (voiced by Robert Thompson).

Showrunner Michael Naidus and Secretariat, the pantomime horse Ferguson summons with a button on his desk, are also going to be part of the new show, which sounds a lot like his current one, but shorter and earlier.

Ferguson announced he'd be leaving the Late Late Show shortly after it was announced that Stephen Colbert would be replacing David Letterman in the time slot before it. You can assume what prompted Ferguson, who has been hosting the show after Letterman's for almost 10 years, to leave the network.

The new show is reportedly going to kick off in the fall of 2015.

For now, here's some classic Craig and Geoff:
