Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss is the latest name to get thrown in to the True Detective season two ring. She would be great, no doubt. But wasn't she kind of already in True Detective? Her Sundance Channel miniseries, Top of the Lake has all the same stuff: trouble protagonist, a central murder, rape, weird accents, isolated community, corrupt officials, (possible) incest.

Moss talked to USA Today about the rumors with her The One I Love costar Mark Duplass, who she says knows more about HBO's plans than she does.

"[They haven't approached me,] not in the way everyone is talking about, honestly. I had to ask my own people, ‘Have you not told me something?’ For me as an actor who’s been in this business for over 25 years, it’s so flattering to be associated with that show, for anyone to think that I could be a part of that show," Moss said.

"I’ll just say that since people have started to see [The One I Love], I’ve gotten lots of e-mails from (HBO) brass that I work with, and every one of them is in love with Elisabeth Moss," Duplass said. "So more and more rumors are going to fly.”

Here's the trailer for The One I Love, which played at Sundance:
