Hannibal is a very serious and very creepy show, so it's unusual for viewers to see the cast so lighthearted. A blooper reel from season two surfaced recently online and is party of the season two box set that comes out September 16. Hey, Mads Mikkelsen has a sense of humor!
The clip also played at Hannibal's Comic-Con panel and is extended in the DVD version. Season three will take place one year after the season two finale, and writer/producer Bryan Fuller did give away from spoilers at the panel. "It’s all about the pursuit of Hannibal. … The first episode is very much like a pilot for a new series starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson," he said.
We'll also get the introduction of many well-known characters who have ben missing from the show so far, like Lady Murasaki, Italian detective Ronaldo Pazzi and even Ralph Fiennes the Red Dragon. Not on the list? Clarice Starling. MGM apparently owns the rights to her character because of Silence of the Lambs. But Fuller said, "We’re going to do a full-court press to get those rights. I want to complete the story."
