Tyler Perry's movies and shows have brought in hundreds of millions of dollars, but you wouldn't know it by the way he talked about his role in Gone Girl. While talking with New York Magazine the producer/director/actor/crossdresser went full hipster:

"I probably would have walked away from it. If I had known who David Fincher was, and his body of work, or if I'd known the book was so popular, I would have said, No. And my agent knew that! He didn't tell me until after I signed on!"

This situation could have been avoided. Perry easily could have googled David Fincher and Gone Girl and found out what a big deal both are. But guess what? Tyler Perry doesn't use Google.
