20 years ago, Keanu Reeves starred in a modestly-budgeted action movie called Speed, helping it become an international juggernaut and gross over $350 million at the worldwide box office. And then, as quickly as he appeared and saved all of those passengers on that ill-fated bus, he was gone.
Speed 2: Cruise Control was an absolute abomination without Reeves, and the franchise has been dormant ever since. Inevitably, the question has dogged Keanu in nearly every interview he has given: will you do Speed 3? For years, the answer has been a hard and fast “no.”
Having just turned 50 years old (side note: whoa), Reeves appears to be softening his stance.
In the above video, Reeves is asked at the 52 second mark about the hypothetical movie. His response? “Oh my god, Speed 3: Redemption. Sure. Jack Traven kind of like, dusting it off.”
Sounds like a yes!
It's definitely time to get Sandra Bullock on the line and make this thing happen. The world is ready.
