An advocacy group says that two middle school-aged brothers who immigrated from Senegal to the Bronx sustained injuries after being attacked by a group who referred to them as "Ebola."

The African Advocacy Council told NBC New York that the boys, sixth and eighth grade students, were beaten at Tremont's I.S. 318 on Friday afternoon. The brothers, who have spent just a month in the country, suffered injuries so severe that they had to be hospitalized.

The advocacy group will hold a press conference this afternoon to push local officials for better protection for students to prevent this type of incident from happening in the future. What's tragic is that there's no protection from sheer ignorance.
