At a much smaller venue than what they reserved for the iPhone 6 announcement last month, Apple dropped what should be their final product unveilings for 2014. The event included two new iPads, a 5k (that's right) iMac, and launch dates for iOS 8.1 and Mac OS X Yosemite. The event had this and a few more things in between—and still no release date for the Apple Watch. Here's everything you need to know.

Mac OS X Yosemite is free, and available for download today. Yosemite introduces a new "translucent" style for windows and tabs, and gives computers an iOS feel. Other things are coming over from iOS 8, like the Notification Center with widget compatibility. Users will also be able to make phone calls from their Mac, and receive those "green text messages" that iPhone users get when someone without an iPhone messages them (that's usually blue).

Read more about it here, and make sure to back up your data before you download.

iPad Air 2

Tim Cook introduced the iPad Air 2 with a video that played off of its famous iPad Air commercial that hid it behind a pencil. The new device is 6.1mm, 18 percent thinner than the iPad Air, and comes with anti-reflective coating that reduces reflections by 50 percent. It's also more powerful, and has better WiFi reception. Yeah, big deal, right? Well it now comes with Touch ID and, probably the biggest thing, is its pricing change.

Apple did away with the 32GB option, and moved down the 64GB into the same pricing scale: the 16GB runs at $499, 64GB at $599, and 128GB at $699.
