That was quick. Yesterday a video went viral showing the nonstop harassment women face while simply taking a walk. For many men it was eye-opening, for women it was another I-told-you-so moment, and for Funny Or Die it was a layup for a spoof video.
"10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Man" follows a white dude wearing glasses, a t-shirt, and jeans while he strolls about the city. The tongue-in-cheek "experiment" reveals the harassment white males face because of stereotypes that include being educated, powerful, and worthy of respect. Another guy even has the nerve to high-five white dude for five minutes.
See! White guys have a tough time, too. Privilege is draining. As FOD says at the end of the video, "If you want to help, please do nothing. Leave the patriarchy in place."
