Watch out, Michelle Obama. Looks like you’ve got some competition.
Last night, Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a star-studded fundraiser at her house for President Obama. The GOOP-tastic event was attended by luminaries such as Julia Roberts and Bradley Whitford, and costs ran as high as $32,400 a plate. But that’s not the story here.
No, the real news is that the newly-single Gwyneth started making some moves on the President during her speech to the gathered crowd. “I’m one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest” said the love-struck actress. “The life that you brought to this country and the passion will historically be the most looked at and scrutinized presidencies of all time.”
Oh Gwyneth, how you flatter!
But there’s more, and it’s even less subtle. She finished her speech by (we assume) gazing deep into the President’s eyes and saying, “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly.”
Ever the smooth operator, Barry hopped on the mic and said “I'm taking her to the next event!” Gwyneth likely laughed along with the crowd, but was silently hoping so hard that he was serious.
No matter how low President Obama’s approval rating gets, he’ll clearly always have 100 percent of Gwyneth’s heart.
