Christopher Nolan’s next film is the epic Interstellar, and by “epic” that of course means that it is incredibly long. Clocking in at two hours and 49 minutes, the movie will take us deep into space as Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and others attempt to find a hospitable planet for mankind to use after sapping all of Earth’s resources.
After a very vague sequence of trailers initially, the plot and beats of the movie are finally starting to make sense now that we’ve arrived at the last trailer before the movie’s release. One question, though. What’s up with this weird metallic robot thing?

Is this some sort of pal for McConaughey to play off of? Could he be the comic relief in what otherwise looks like a gravely serious film?
