Paul Feig Ain't Afraid of Directing No Ladies, Signs on For All-Female "Ghostbusters"

Paul Feig is going to direct an all-female "Ghostbusters" re-boot.

Well that only took a couple decades.

Director Paul Feig tweeted today that he is officially on board for a new Ghostbusters movie, possibly bringing an end to the sad, sad, 25-year absence in our lives of movies about people who bust ghosts.

That's assuming nothing falls through this time. Perhaps you heard that they've tried to make this movie, ahem, a few times over the years

This one's going to be a reboot (because the straightforward sequel train kind of pulls out of the station when you wait so long that principal cast members begin dying), and the big twist: it's going to star all women.

1.

It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call.

Feig, who directed Bridesmaids and The Heat, is obviously the go-to guy for this kind of job. (It's kind of ironic that the go-to guy for directing funny women is a guy at all, but I'll leave that discussion for a bummer feminist think-piece on another site).

Here are my choices for who should play what roles with zero context whatsoever and chosen within a span of 37 seconds:

Dr. Peter Venkman:  Amy Schumer

Dr. Raymond Stantz: Anna Faris

Dr. Egon Spengler: Michelle Obama

Winston Zeddmore: Rihanna

Dana Barrett: Howard Stern

Janine Melnitz: Nick Nolte

Louis Tully: Snooki

Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man: Daniel Day-Lewis

Slimer: Peter Dinklage
