If you like authentic TV, then tune-in tonight for the series premiere of Welcome to Fairfax at 10 p.m. on Pivot TV. The new show takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the growing artistic community of LA’s Fairfax district and gives an insider’s look from the perspective of the up-and-comers who inhabit it. These young entrepreneurs are changing the artistic game in Los Angeles, just as Pivot TV is changing the landscape of television through their socially conscious programming. Pivot is a unique TV network where what you watch does make a difference as each program provides opportunities for viewers to take action.
To celebrate the show’s premiere, Complex and Pivot hosted a launch party on Wednesday, October 15 at the Fairfax district’s own YOUth venue. Nearly 300 people turned out for free food and drinks, live painting by Fairfax artist Blue the Great, and a live DJ set by Odd Future’s Mike G. Gavin “Mizzle” McNeill, one of the show’s protagonists and a talented designer, gave a heartfelt speech to the crowd—a mix of young artists and LA tastemakers from the worlds of fashion, music, and more.
