Describing his struggling show as “very niche” and having a “very small but disloyal following,” John Mulaney appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and showed the kind of good humor rarely seen among lead actors of likely-to-be-canceled series.
“The ratings have not been good,” Mulaneytold Kimmel. “But luckily, the reviews…have also not been good.” In perhaps a sign of its imminent demise, Mulaney was recently bumped from its 9:30 slot on Fox’s Sunday night lineup and moved to the much less-prominent 7:30 spot.
You have to admire Mulaney’s spirit though, as the Emmy-winning former Saturday Night Live writer continues to put on a brave face. Sometimes, all you can do to keep from crying is laugh.
