If this is how protests against Photoshop are going to be from now on, you have to think the movement is going to be a big success.

Keira Knightley did a photoshoot for this month’s issue of Interview magazine, with one demand: that they not touch up any of her images in Photoshop. To illustrate her point, Knightley posed topless (link NSFW) and told The Times that:

“I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters. That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: ‘OK, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch.’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are.”

As you may recall, Knightley’s body has been worked over in Photoshop before. On the poster for the spectacularly horrible 2004 film King Arthur, a post-Bend It Like Beckham/Pirates of the Caribbean/Love Actually Knightley saw her breasts made decidedly bigger on the poster, for reasons that weren’t totally clear.
