Last week, it was reported that the Aaron Sorkin written / Danny Boyle directed Steve Jobs movie had been placed in "turnaround" by Sony Pictures, basically a Hollywood euphemism for "shit heap."

Considering the dream team behind the movie, iconic subject matter and long list of Hollywood actors rumored to be circling the role of Jobs, it was pretty disappointing news, which means it's really good news that Universal Pictures has picked up the film from Sony for a rumored $30 million, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael Fassbender is now in the Jobs role that Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale both dropped out of as Universal moves forward with the film that Sony had been developing for at least two years. The fact that they spent money on this thing is proof they intend to make it happen.

Sorkin adapted the script from Walter Isaacson's acclaimed Jobs biography Steve Jobs.
