Appearing on The B.S. Report with Grantland’s Bill Simmons, Larry David shed some light on the future of Curb Your Enthusiasm and discussed why he thinks the Seinfeld series finale was “clever.”

If you’re hoping for more Curb, you’ll have to…well…curb your enthusiasm. David said that “I guess right now the odds would be against it…maybe 6:1.”

It seems that the reaction to the Seinfeld finale has left David feeling a little cool on the idea of trying to put a bow on his show. Regarding feeling like he needs to give a sort of neat, tidy ending to Curb, he told Simmons that “I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale…that I no longer feel the need to ‘wrap things up.’”

As for Seinfeld—and the amount of flak he took for it—David said that while he wasn’t angry, “it taught me a lesson.”

“I was not interested in an ‘emotional ride,’ and neither was Jerry [Seinfeld],” he said, adding, “I thought it was clever to bring back all those characters in a courtroom and testify against them for what they did, and then show those clips.”
