You might say Netflix is, ahem, pushing the envelope with their first acquisition in Park City, Utah. While indie distributors are at Sundance preparing to fill their movie stables with films that are currently screening there, the streaming video service is staying in the ski-lodge, inking fireside movie deals for indie filmmakers for movies that don't even exist yet. How old school. The first Netflix benefactor from the Sundance arena are brothers Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass. The bros dotted the line for four feature length streaming films on Friday. This follow recent Netflix movie deals made for Adam Sandler (also a four-picture deal), and a new Judd Apatow-produced Pee-wee Herman movie.

The hardworking Duplass brothers have made, starred, or produced many Sundance hits over the years (such as Safety Not Guaranteed, The Skeleton Twins, Cyrus and Humpday), but are currently wrapping up a breakout six months of television. Jay scored a co-starring role in Amazon's Transparent (are there enough hours left in the day for you to binge the whole series? If so, you should). And Mark is currently starring in HBO's Togetherness (which follows Girls on Sundays, and also features Jay in a co-creator, co-writer, and co-director role with Mark).

The brothers are known for their highly improvised character comedy studies, and usually work in settings with a quick, low-budget turnaround. However, their Netflix commitments won't be begin until Mark wraps up the last season of FX's fantasy football-related comedy, The League. So in the meantime, you can use Netflix to stream The One I Love, which was a hugely underrated 2014 indie flick, starring Mark Duplass, Elisabeth Moss, and... weird carbon copies of Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss.
