Serial may be long over, but the murder case against Adnan Syed continues. One of the key witnesses, Asia McClain, is now saying she never took back her 1999 affidavit in which she said Syed was with her at the library during the time his ex, Hae Min Lee, was murdered.

In the podcast, it was learned that McClain had told case prosecutor Kevin Urick that she had given Syed an alibi after being pressured by his family. But now she tells the Blaze she wasn’t pressured at all and that she never renounced her affidavit.

1.

"I did not write the March 1999 letters or the affidavit because of pressure from Syed’s family," McClain states in the new affidavit. “I did not write them to please Syed’s family or to get them off my back. What actually happened is that I wrote the affidavit because I wanted to provide the truth about what I remembered. My only goal has always been to provide the truth about what I remembered.”

Urick, meanwhile, refuted her claims and told the Blaze her comments are “absolutely false.”
