Depending on your level of freaknastyness, this is either a tragedy or a sweet, merciful relief: the tampon scene from the 50 Shades of Grey novel didn't make it into the movie coming out on Valentine's Day.

The film, already the fastest selling R-rated movie ticket in Fandango's history, is going to be a hit with or without tampon action, because horny people (lots of them).

Of said tampon scene, director Sam Taylor Johnson told Variety, "It was never even discussed ... A lot of [the book] was very literal. The movie didn’t need to do that. It’s a completely different medium."

And now, for your reading enjoyment or non-enjoyment, the tampon scene:

“When did you start your period, Anastasia?” he asks out of the blue, gazing down at me.

“Err … Yesterday,” I mumble in my highly aroused state.

“Good.” He releases me and turns me around.

“Hold on to the sink,” he orders and pulls my hips back again, like he did in the playroom, so I’m bending down.

He reaches between my legs and pulls on the blue string … What! And … gently pulls my tampon out and tosses it into the nearby toilet. Holy fuck. Sweet mother of all … Jeez.
