You’d be hard-pressed to find somebody who enjoys breaking up. Even if you have only been on a few dates with the other person, it’s a painful and uncomfortable process. It’s no wonder that people try to use the “silent treatment” to break up; it’s non-confrontational and lets everybody walk away with their dignity largely intact.

That seems to be the tactic that a British woman named Anne-Marie tried to use, but the gentleman she was trying to end things with would not take no for an answer. That’s when she decided to go really extreme with it, feigning an illness and then death via text:

1.

According to The Mirror, Anne-Marie didn’t stay dead for long. She told the newspaper that she was back on the same dating website where she met this guy not long after, and the man who thought she was dead discovered that she very much wasn’t. “He sent me a horrid message,” she said. “Can’t say I blame him, really. I am currently engaged to be married and not dead!”

Come on Anne-Marie. If you’re going to be fake dead, be fake dead. You can’t resurrect yourself that fast. Think of the mental trauma you probably inflicted on this (admittedly creepy) guy. Have some compassion.
