Investigators Determine Cause of TransAsia Airlines Crash

35 have been confirmed dead.

Investigators have determined the engines failed to produce enough thrust in Wednesday's TransAsia Airlines crashTaiwan's Aviation Safety Council says the plane's right engine went into idle mode but didn't "flame out" as the pilot believed. The pilot then shut down the left engine manually and was unable to restart engines after.

Thomas Wang, director of Aviation Safety Council, says it's unclear why the second engine was shut down. The plane involved in the crash is able to function with just one engine running.

The death toll has been confirmed at 35, with 15 survivors. Fifty-eight passengers and crew members were onboard, and investigators don't expect to find anymore bodies because of murky water.

We'll have more as this story continues. A final report is expected in three to six months.
