The 40th- anniversary special for Saturday Night Live is in the books. We got parodies, and Celebrity JeopardyBut most of all, we got classic skits with nostalgia twists. And a lot of jokes were at Kanye West's expense... until he killed it as the musical guest.

As kinda-sorta host Steve Martin said at the start of the show, "Tonight is like an enormous high school reunion, a high school that is almost all white.” Here's the yearbook, in case you missed it.

Melissa McCarthy, Tina Fey, Jane Curtain and Amy Poehler in Weekend Update:

Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler's Digital Short:

Set to the tune of “Simply the Best," Sandler and Samberg sing about the giggle-fits that come with being on Saturday Night Live and thrust actors out of character, and that Lorne Michaels is always super-cool about it (he's not).

Bill Murray as lounge singer Nick Ocean:

Murray reprised the singer who sings theme songs to movies that don’t have lyrical theme songs.

Weekend Update with guests Roseanne Roseannadanna, Stefon, and Matt Foley:

After Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jane Curtain told a few "SNL is so old..." jokes, out came the guests, including Emma Stone as Roseanne Roseannadanna, Edward Norton as Stefon (with Seth Meyers and Bill Hader, too!), and Melissa McCarthy as Matt Foley.

Wayne's World:

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey did a countdown of everything that makes the show special for the performers (including getting to tell Kanye West to sit down). And number their 1'll make you go "awwwwww."

Maya Rudolph as Beyonce:

And then there was Kanye West's performance with Sia and Vic Mensa:

(Introduced by Christopher Walken:)

Of course.
