There is never a reason to get salad instead of pizza at Pizza Hut. It's not called Leafy Greens Hut for a reason.

Yet, for reasons unknown, a Tennessee man named Everett Chattman found himself eating croutons (presumably on a salad, but maybe just by themselves, which would be even sadder) at a Pizza Hut in Harriman, Tennessee, and shattered part of his specialized dentures in the process.

According to the Roanoke Country News (via Gawker), Chattman sued the pizza chain "for serving 'excessively hard croutons'" and claimed the restaurant's "negligence caused him personal injury and personal property loss," and also probably a little bit of personal shame. The decision to sue came after the restaurant's insurance company would not negotiate with Chattman and his lawyer Mark Foster.

This local news story continues to defy any logical explanation though, as a Roanoke Country judge awarded Chattman $2400 for damages in his case on Friday.

When asked if he believed his client was satisfied, Foster said, "I think so."
