The Flash and Arrow spinoff series, which is said to feature three DC comics characters never seen on TV, is bringing back a familiar character for the series: Hawkgirl. Actress Ciara Renée, known mostly for her role in the Tony Award winning Broadway play Pippin’, has just been plucked to play the heroine.

Hawkgirl a.k.a. Kendra Sunders' character is described as:

1.

“A young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl."

Renée joins the spinoff's cast, which includes Arrow’s Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/“The Atom,” Flash’s Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/“Captain Cold,” and Flash’s Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/“Heat Wave.”
