The search for Norman Lee, a comic book artist who went missing in the Cayman Islands last Thursday while snorkeling, has been called off.

Lee was snorkelling with his wife but they became separated approximately 250 yards off shore. “The spouse returned to shore, but her husband was not seen. A report was made for assistance and a search commenced,” said police Police Chief Inspector Brad Ebank told Cayman 27. "The currents in that area are strong and it is unlikely that we will make any recovery at this stage." CNN reports that there is little hope that Lee's body could be found at this point.

Lee was an artist for both Marvel and DC Comics and worked on series such as Wolverine Annual, Supergirl, and Starman. He is 47 years old. He and his wife were visiting the Cayman Islands from Massachusetts.
