Sony is continuing its trend of making female-driven versions of things that already exist (see Ghostbusters, all female) with a 21 Jump Street spinoff movie featuring a female-led cast.
Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs, two writers from Broad City (who obviously have experience on very good, female-driven comedy) are working on the script, Collider reports. No actresses or director is attached yet, but actually, if they just throw Abbi and Ilana into the Jump Street universe (yes, it's a universe now), we'd be cool with that.
The studio is also reportedly moving forward with its plans for a Men in Black / Jump Street crossover starring the (male) stars of those respective franchises.
