Frank Miller Returning to Conclude His 'Dark Knight Returns' Comic Series

'The Dark Knight III: The Master Race' is coming this fall.

O.G. Frank Miller is returning to DC Comics to conclude his The Dark Night Returns saga. DC announced Miller will pen The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, the follow-up to 1986's The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again, which ran in 2001 and 2002. The third and final series will begin a biweekly, eight-issue run late fall 2015.

Miller is working with writer Brian Azzarello, best known for 100 Bullets, Joker, and Wonder Woman. However, the artists for the series haven't been announced. "It's been an amazing experience collaborating with Frank these past six months," he said in a press release. "I think we have an epic story that these characters truly deserve."

We'll see if it's the one they need, too, later this year.
