Don't let her recent purchase of the iconic Hustler shop in Hollywood as part of a plan to build the Los Angeles version of the hyper-exclusive Arts Club in London fool you, Gwyneth Paltrow understands the struggle of the common person. In fact, Paltrow is even down enough with that struggle that she's willing to experience it for seven days in a row.

After being nominated by the equally-distant-from-reality-of-food-stamps Mario Batali (your mom knows who he is; ask her) as part of the #FoodBankNYCChallenge initiative (alongside Sting and Deborah Harry — other people your mom definitely knows), Paltrow apparently tweeted a picture of her $29 grocery haul of greens 'n' things.

According to CNN, the #FoodBankNYCChallenge is in direct response to recent budget cuts to food stamps and similar programs. Say what you want about Gwyneth Paltrow's other endeavors, you loveable cynics — but we reached peak pun earlier this week and it'll take a bit more than Gwyneth Paltrow on food stamps to bring us back from that.
