James Franco has enlisted Courtney Love for his adaptation of William Gay's 1999 novel The Long Home. Love joins the previously announced Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), and Timothy Hutton (American Crime). The Long Home revolves around a young contractor who is forced to build a 'honky-tonk' for the man who murdered his father.

Franco is no stranger to the art of adaptation, having expressed his adoration for the process in multiple interviews. Previously, the actor/writer/director/artist directed adaptations of the William Faulkner classics As I Lay Dying and The Sound and the Fury, as well as Cormac McCarthy's Child of God — on which he also served as screenwriter.

Courtney Love recently joined Empire for two episodes as Elle Davis (pictured above), but previously made cinematic waves in Man on the Moon (alongside Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman) and The People vs. Larry Flynt. Still no word on Love's plans for a TED talk, which she outlined in a 2014 interview with Pitchfork:

"I really want to give a TED talk on 'reputation.' That is something I'm specifically equipped to discuss—how reputation can affect even your capacity to rent a place. Having good credit is irrelevant in the face of something like getting thrown out of court six years ago. I've really thought this out."
